Covering Climate Now is Hiring!

Covering Climate Now is a global journalistic collaboration working to dramatically improve the coverage of the biggest news story of our time. Co-founded by the Columbia Journalism Review and The Nation in association with The Guardian, Covering Climate Now includes more than 380 news outlets—online, print, TV, radio, large and small—with a combined audience well over 1 billion people. Together we are driving a conversation within our profession about how to improve coverage of this ever evolving news story. Towards that end, Covering Climate Now covers not the climate story itself but rather how the media is covering that story. We publish original reporting and commentary that highlights best practices, constructively criticizes shortcomings, identifies authoritative background resources, offers story ideas, lists professional opportunities, and encourages further collaborations such as the week of dedicated coverage we organized around the United Nations Climate Action summit in September of 2019.

Covering Climate Now is seeking an exceptional, dedicated journalist to play a dual role as both managing editor and social media director of our website. Covering Climate Now is a young, fast growing organization. As a member of a small team, the right candidate should be prepared to participate enthusiastically and creatively in the growth process. The position is based in New York City, with a competitive salary and excellent benefits. Women and people of color in particular are encouraged to apply. Please send resume and cover letter to:
